Getting Digital Marketing Done Right
As businesses are starting to open back up, even for limited services, we’re starting to see a lot of activity in the marketing space to re-engage, reacquire, and remarket customers and clients.
The one thing that we’ve not seen, though, is a good marketing strategy. Not enough businesses have a strategy in place when running their ads, whether it’s on social media, search engines, or even (dare we say) lawn signs (!).
We find that most business owners are good at what they do, but the thing is….their “thing” is not marketing. Just because a business has done something to advertise, it does not mean that it will get a return.
What people sometimes overlook when creating ads is that they’re not looking at it from the buyer’s point of view. Think about it…are you selling to yourself or are you selling to your customers? You see where we’re going with this?
People don’t want to see a string of lawn signs while driving down St. Augustine Rd., or bombarded with facebook ads that has nothing to do with what they’re looking for. Advertising cost is high, and making the most of it means know where and who to place those ads in front of.
It’s okay, we understand that this whole marketing thing isn’t for everyone, so we’ve put together a list of things you can do RIGHT NOW to help your business make the most of your advertising dollars.
Some good guidelines to keep in mind before running ads:
-
- Have an engaging ad copy to create curiosity. What you’re looking for here is to get people to click on your ad.
- Have a landing page in place so that they’re seeing your offer and not just a registration page or a phone call. A landing page is so much better because people like to see pictures and photos of what they’re buying into, even if they’re only window shopping.
- Your landing page should have some type of visitor “tagging” method in place, such as a Google tag or Facebook pixel. Better yet is to have both.
- Run your ad for at least 2 weeks to get a good sampling of data. You’re going to be thankful you did.
All these things you as business owners can do yourself without hiring a third party.
